TekerGO
An app that helps cyclists discover new routes, plan rides, find events, and track their progress. All with a clear interface and provided motivation to make cycling even more enjoyable.
Issue
Although more and more people are choosing cycling primarily as a means of transportation or as a leisure activity, there is currently no platform in Hungarian that would comprehensively support and assist this.
Solution
TekerGO aims to provide a comprehensive platform for cyclists where they can easily plan their routes, tours and track their cycling progress.
Research
I created an online survey for the cycling community, asking about their habits, desires, and interests. This gave me the opportunity to put my own assumptions aside and look at their real needs.

I also asked the participants about similar apps currently available on the market and observed how they used them. I was especially curious about which elements caused difficulties, what might even completely deter the user from using the app, and which features they were most happy with, and based on these I drew my conclusions.

Personas
Based on the information obtained through research, I developed two personas that cover the main motivations and difficulties of potential users.
Trailhunter Cyclist
He cycles several times a week, mainly to work. He likes to exercise, but due to lack of time, he combines training with everyday transportation. He is open to challenges and motivated to compete with people with similar interests through the app.

Family Adventurer
She goes on bike trips with her family a few times a year. She prefers safe routes through the woods where her children can ride freely. She wants to avoid traffic and easily find a bicycle storage if they would like to stop for an ice cream.

Design system
When creating each element, I prioritized nostalgia and a sense of calm but steady progress. The rounded shapes and balanced layout create a friendly atmosphere and support the joyful discovery that cycling offers.
Colors
When creating the color palette, I focused on conveying a sense of closeness to nature, stability, and an active lifestyle.
Typography
The contemporary Quicksand font proved to be perfect for the TekerGO application, as it balances playfulness and seriousness with its legible, friendly shapes.
Pattern
The pattern serving as the background of the app is intended to evoke the topographic patterns of classic paper maps.
